Mobile payment contract sent to Sharif University of Technology

“Melli Bank is to sign contract for MCI mobile payment service with Sharif University of Technology. The contract has been sent for final approval,” Taghi Chehroudi told Mobna news agency.
“Mobile payment service is facing no problem. Its pilot test was started last month and it has to be approved by the university,” he said.
“Melli Bank mobile payment service has been active for a month. It is offered as software which can be installed on mobile sets,” he added.
“MCI mobile payment service, however, is not software and is installed on subscribers’ sim cards regardless of the mobile set model,” he said.
“This kind of service is suited to banks, and in this way a standard will be set on mobile payment service without regard to mobile set type,” he added.
“MCI’s high penetration rate and its high volume of sim card distribution countrywide was the main reason for its selection as operator by Melli Bank to offer mobile payment service,” Chehroudi said.
