Mohammad Hussein Fallah Asghari, in conversation with MOBNA, said although no such company has been identified so far, all countries in contract with the MTC are technically able to penetrate our telecommunication outlets through the international network and offer their services.
He stressed operators in roaming contract with 1st Operator should obtain MTC permission prior to their services to 1st Operator subscribers.
Analysts believe foreign companies’ authorized or unauthorized activities in Payamac zone are a threat to 2,500b Rial income that domestic operators earn from Payamac transmission, and may result in such enormous capital being transferred abroad.
They believe domestic operators’ resistance to lower Payamac tariff has caused some foreign companies to come forward and offer the service at cheaper rate.
The Payamac tariff is now at least 142 Rial.
