”The move will develop Government’s administrative power and relieves it of other administrative tasks which non-governmental sectors can perform,” he said.
”With the merger, the responsibilities of the new Transportation and Communication Ministry will be delegated to the private sector but its administrative, planning and control duties will remain with Government,” he added.
The merger between ICT and Transportation ministries has been proposed and approved by Parliament industries and mines committee but needs to be approved by Parliament.
