“Use of sms for election campaign was not welcomed in comparison with Assembly of Experts elections and the parliament elections,” Chahar Nasl Amvaj company managing director Ali-Reza Ahmadiyan Zarchi told Iran’s mobile news agency (MOBNA).
“Before presidential election campaign beginning it was predicted that election candidates will use sms for campaign, but it was not realized,” he said.
“Since Iran Broadcasting has provided all campaign facilities for candidates, sms network usage for campaign is lesser,” he continued.
“Currently sms in election campaign has been used as a secondary tool and is in third and fourth priorities,” he added.
“Mass sms likely will increase in last two days of election campaign. So far operators have sent about 50 million campaign sms to mobile phone subscribers,” he elaborated.
