“In a letter to Tamin Telecom, IDRO had announced it was ready to participate in project and had received preliminary consent which it has now received in writing,” Ramadanali Sadeghzadeh told Mobna news agency.
“According to article 44 of the Constitution, IDRO can take part up to 49% of private sector projects, but it is prepared to participate by 20% only, although the figure is not yet final,” he added.
However, the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology authorities have so far not confirmed that Tamin Telecom, an affiliate of the Social Security Organization, could take the Third Operator project in the first place.
It is a year since the winner of the project tender was selected and later dismissed, but no replacement has yet been formally announced.
Third Operator is expected to employ 3G technology.
