“Electronic passport is much the same as traditional passport with the addition of a small chip embedded in its back cover containing holder’s information,” Saeed Seyed Agha Bani Hashemi told Mobna news agency.
“Changing traditional passports to the new form is done by the Interior and Foreign Affairs ministries and its technical phase is currently under way,” he said.
“From October 2010, no country will accept traditional passports,” he added.
”Electronic passports are foolproof and hard to tamper with,” he said.
”The Passport Police are ready to make the replacements from March 2010 provided the required fund is available,” he added.
