“A consortium has been formed to launch Third Operator project consisting of IDRO, Tamin Telecom and Imam Khomeini Decree Headquarter,” Ramezan-Ali SadeghZadeh told Mobna news agency.
“Final negotiations have taken place with Tamin Telecom for cooperation in Third Operator and the company accepted IDRO investment in the project,” he said.
“At present, the share of consortium members taking part in Third Operator has to be determined,” he added.
“According to the new privatization law, IDRO, only by cooperating with the private sector, will be able to invest in the Third Operator project,” he continued.
Accordingly, IDRO, which had earlier announced its readiness to participate in Third Operator tender in order to resolve its investment problem will remains as developing organization which can participate in cooperative investments in its field of work such as high technology industries by having maximum 49% shares.
Tamin Telecom submitted Third Operator go-ahead paper to the Radio communication and Regulations Organization last week and was selected as Third Operator.
The license value is 300 million Euros and the operator is to start its operation soon.
Tamin Telecom Company (affiliated to the Social Security Organization) was earlier selected as Third Operator tender winner along with its foreign partner Etisalat from the Emirates, but was later dismissed from the project because the foreign partner could not fulfill its obligations.
