“Consumers and Producers Protection Organization inspectors should tighten their control so that smugglers would not be able to sell their goods,” Hussein Modarress Khiabani told Irans mobile news agency (Mobna).
He said CPPO should perform its duty more vehemently so that mobile handset smuggling, which amounts to 80 percent annually, would not rise to 90 percent.
“Of 8 million mobile handsets brought into the country last year 7million had been smuggled and sold in the country,” he said.
He believed a closer cooperation among the agencies concerned could substantially limit the practice.
