“Some Iraqi vendors steal Iranian pilgrims mobile sim cards when they install Iraqi ones,” TCI managing director Saber Feizi told Mobna news agency.
“Iraqi sim cards vendors make international calls with stolen sim cards and impose heavy expenses on sim cards owners,” he said.
“In many cases operators with whom MCI has roaming contract do not provide updated charge information, and after a while subscribers mobile phone line would be cut off,” Feizi added.
“In some cases when pilgrims return country they are shocked when confronted with 200 to 300 million rials (212,000 – 319,000 dollars) debts in their mobile phone bill,” he said.
“It is not important that Iranian pilgrim use which operator sim cards, but should not give his sim card to strangers at any cost,” Feizi said.
