“Telecommunication authorities views about mms regulation were studied in the regulation commission and its generalities were approved,” Radio Communication and Regulation Organization official Ahmad Farhadi told Mobna news agency.

RCRO permission is needed to launch mms service” he said.
RCRO is a regulatory body of the telecommunications ministry which approves the guidelines for the mobile phone operators.
A year has passed since mms service has been suspended by the telecommunications ministrys request based on the views of Irans supreme cultural council, a vetting body. RCRO was committed to set regulation for using this service with in three months.
According to the MMS regulation approved by RCRO subscribers are banned from transmitting obscene images and messages and must only adhere to the space provided for them.
For first time those offenders transmit obscene pictures via mm the line will be deactivated for a week following a written warning, whose re-establishment of the line is subject to payment of costs, and for second time offence the line will be deactivated for three months with prior written warning, and for the third time the line is deactivated permanently.
The tariff for sending per mms is 1000 rials (10 cent).
