“If a mobile phone subscriber fails to pay two consecutive phone bills the subscriber’s line will be deactivated for 20 days within which the subscriber has a chance to settle the debt, otherwise the line will be deactivated,” Mobile Company of Iran’s Ali Asgharnejad.
“The subscriber, however, will have 6 months to settle the debt otherwise the subscriber’s right to the line will be withdrawn,” he added.
Currently, sim cards with debts below 500,000 rials (more than 50) are not affected but they will be notified three times.
Failing that, the line will become one-way and after two weeks deactivated completely.
