Iran shelves mobile set standardization plan: official

“The standard for information technology, which includes the mobile set, has been shelved by the ISIRI but not cancelled,” a source in the ISIRI, who declined to be identified told Mobna news agency.
He added that there are “more important matters on hand,” to be tackled by the ISIRI.
The source added that though there are 24,000 commodity standards in the world but there are only 9,000 in the ISIRI.
“However, its radiation, ergonomic design and environmental standards are among compulsory standards that a mobile set must adhere to,” he added.
Earlier, it was planned that a national standard would be set by March 2008 which domestic manufacturers and importers would abide by.
