RCRO charter in need of revision – a lawyer suggests

article 5 of the responsibilities of the Ministry of Information & Communication Technology, any changes in the structure of the former requires changes in the responsibilities of the latter.
Hassameddin Ipakchi, in conversation with MOBNA, referred to weaknesses existing in RCROO function right from its formation, and suggested that it was in need of revision.
He stressed that supervision over the issue of Telecom subscribers’ deposits rested with RCRO who, apparently, failed the test.
Ipakchi, in answer to the question: Why has RCRO not stood up to Iran Telecom to protect its subscribers’ rights? indicated that since RCRO chief is also the president of the general assembly of the country’s largest telecom operator, such problems are bound to arise.
He believed that RCRO should protect the right of Telecom subscribers vis-à-vis the Telecom, and since it was originally established as an arbiter between subscribers and the operator it should verify whether the failure to convert subscribers deposits to shares was a breach of its duties.
