“The scheme has not yet been ratified by parliament since the Guardian Council has referred it back to Parliament,” Davoud Zareian told Irans mobile news agency (Mobna).
“TCI rural agents are contractors and as such they are not entitled to insurance, and if parliament passes such a motion then they should specify its source of fund,” he added.
Last year, parliament ratified that in order to compensate for loss of livelihood of some 40 thousand ICT agents in villages with work experiences of 8 to 25 years as a result of dismantling village telecommunication booths they should be insured, but because the source of such a fund had not been specified it was rejected by the Guardian Council.
Their insurance could cost TCI 2,000 to 3,000 billion rials.
