“Emirates Etisalat has not fulfilled its commitments. Turkcell in second mobile phone operator involved had the same issue,” Mohammad Khajepour told Irans mobile news agency (MOBNA).
“Etisalat claimed that it had fulfilled its commitments, but it could not pass its due dates successfully,” he said.
“Telecommunication ministry has not decided next stages of third operator,” he said.
“Determining holding the third operator tender and how to confront with Etisalat is up to Radio Communication and Regulations Organization,” he added.
Telecommunication minister had announced dismissing Etisalat from third operator project because it did not fulfill its commitments.
The operator was selected as third operator winner on 12 January 2009.
Tamin-Etisalat consortium compromises of Iranian company Tamin Telecom affiliated with Social Security investment company and Emirates operator Etisalat which was selected as Iran third mobile phone operator tender winner on 12 January 2009.
It was planned the operator to pay 160,000 trillion rials to government during 15 years and to attract 17 million subscribers.
