Indian operator Reliance announced readiness to participate in third operator tender

Currently Saudi Telecom Company (STC), Emirates Telecommunication Establishment Etisalat, Kuwaiti Zain Telecommunication Network, Malaysian mobile phone firm TM International (TMI), China Mobile, British Telecom (BT) and Russian Megafon have unofficially announced their willingness to participate in third mobile phone operator tender.
So far 11 companies have bought tender documents and two companies have bought documents via foreign consultant in Dubai.
Out of 13 companies which have bought tender documents 10 companies are Iranian and three companies are foreign.
Third operator tender documents buyers have two weeks to select their ultimate foreign partner for this tender and to provide their documents to Radio Communication and Regulation Organization.
Provided propositions will be studied in a week and result will be provided to buyer.
Tender documents buyers whose qualification will be approved should provide their proposition packages up to 29 November.
Third operator will offer 3G sim cards and will have 17 million subscribers in 15 years.
The operators initial capital is estimated 300 million Euros.
