Mohammad Marzban-Raad, in conversation with MOBNA, said with the 10% tariff, authorized companies should expand their activities and force out smugglers in the field.
However, he did not believe the tariff would help the domestic handset production.
He asserted that frequent changes of tariff on the one hand, and ineffectual decisions by the government on the other have helped to demolish this national plan.
He emphasized, however, that lack of coordination among parliament, government and Article-1 committee has caused the smuggling practice to take root.
He believed the tariff as inappropriate, and predicted it would destroy domestic production and waste hitherto investments.
