Major Russian operator to commence Iranian assignment

Ministry of Information & Communication Technology PR department quotes International Relations director Ahmad Pouranghnia as saying despite three UN sanctions against Iran, some of world’s major operators are still expressing their tendency to participate in Iran’s telecommunication market.
He named Megafon, one of the largest operators in Russia also operating in some other countries, as one.
He said Megafon officials have met some of ICT directors and later announced their intention to take part in the 3rd Operator tender and some of Iran’s telecommunication projects.
He added the company has recently set up office in Tehran and is due to start its activities next week.
