Authorized mobile retailers threatened with extinction

“The lukewarm crackdown on mobile smuggling by Government agencies and its ever increasing expansion has caused nearly all authorized agents to cut their activities,” Ebrahim Dorosti told Mobna news agency.
“The cut in legal import of mobiles has only increased the influx of smuggled sets which are cheaper and buyers generally opt for them,” he said.
“The current 25% import tariff has so far been only beneficial to smugglers and the only way to redress the situation is to reduce the tariff to 10%,” he added.
